Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony – A Meaningful Community Experience
24.01.2026
On January 24, 2026, our community gathered for a special Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony guided by Sifu Dmitry and his mother Elena. The event became more than a tea tasting — it was a calm, cultural, and deeply human experience that brought people together in a rare and beautiful way.
Guests explored the elegance of traditional Chinese loose-leaf teas, experiencing three distinctive selections: 3-year-aged Royal Pu-Erh, the legendary Da Hong Pao (“Big Red Robe”) Oolong, and fragrant Mandarin Pu-Erh tea. Each tea carried its own character, aroma, and energy, offering participants not only flavor but a feeling — grounding, warmth, and quiet clarity.
What made the gathering especially meaningful was the spirit of connection. Each participant had a moment to share about themselves, which created sincere conversations and a warm, respectful atmosphere. The ceremony reminded everyone that practices like tea culture and martial arts both develop patience, awareness, and harmony within ourselves and with others.
Sifu Dmitry brought decades of experience in both martial arts and tea culture. Beyond his lifelong dedication to Chinese internal and external arts, he founded an online tea shop in 2006 and spent years studying authentic tea traditions through travel in China and continued education in tea communities. His approach to Gong Fu Cha reflects discipline, feeling, and deep respect for tradition.
Elena has practiced traditional tea ceremony since 2001. Her journey includes years of study, travel to Chinese tea houses, and sharing carefully selected teas with communities internationally and in the United States. Tea for her is not simply a drink, but a way of life — cultivating sensitivity, balance, and quiet joy. She has also been a guiding teacher for Dmitry in understanding the Tao of tea.
The gentle aroma of tea, the sound of water, and the shared silence created a peaceful atmosphere that many participants said stayed with them long after the final cup.
